What you can do with MergePilot

The tool stays at the top of the page so you can get to work immediately. This section explains what each operation produces, how files are handled, and what to check before sharing a copy.

Tools for complete documents and individual pages

Merge or split files

Merge PDFs combines complete PDFs into one document. Split PDFs does the opposite: it creates one PDF per page and delivers them in a ZIP when there are several outputs.

Fix document structure

Reorder pages keeps every page and changes their sequence. Delete pages removes the pages you name and keeps the rest together.

Prepare a selection

Extract pages creates a new PDF from the pages you enter and respects the order of their first appearance. It is useful when sharing only one section.

Create a PDF from images

Image to PDF accepts JPEG and PNG, puts one image on each page, and does not apply OCR, compression, or photo editing.

Create a copy without a password

Unlock PDF uses the current password you know to create an unprotected copy locally.

How local processing works

When you choose a compatible file, the browser reads it in your device memory. Operations run in the tab and MergePilot creates a new download; the original is not overwritten or sent to MergePilot servers.

Local does not mean an absolute guarantee. Your browser, extensions, operating system, downloads folder, and physical access to the device remain part of the environment. For sensitive documents, use a trusted device, keep the original, and clear temporary copies when you finish.

PDFs support up to 50 MB per file and the full queue has a 350 MB limit. Large documents use memory; if the tab slows down, work in smaller batches.

General frequently asked questions

Are files uploaded to MergePilot?

Is the original file changed?

No. MergePilot creates a new download. Keep the original until you open and check the result.

Does the tool reduce PDF size?

It does not offer compression. Removing pages can change the size, but no specific reduction is promised.
